Yes, the day has come, I’ve made it through the practical nursing program! I am just a “short” exam away from becoming an LPN! What an exciting day, congratulations everyone we did t! I want to quickly send a special shout out to all the wonderful people  who helped me grow in this time; to my classmates and friends, my preceptor, hospital staff, lab assistants and of course my instructors! thanks for all your support during this important time in my life.

Now that I’m finished the program I have a lil’  extra free time  to update some new jewelry. Here is what I’m hoping to  get up on the etsy shop within this next week. Hope you enjoy

Look Who’s Back! :)

September 4, 2011

After a year long Hiatus, I’m back into the creative process. My creative side had to take the back seat for a while while I finished my nursing studies but now that my program is coming to an end I can slowly begin to dabble back to my creative self! But it’s impossible to stifle the artist in me, you can bet that the whole time I was hitting the books I was dreaming up new ideas and designs.  So look out for some new activity happening around here 😉

Here is a sneak peak at whats going up in the shop within the next few days.

Happy long weekend everyone!!

Punch It Out!

May 31, 2010

I’ve discovered this super easy way of punching out shapes from sheet metal. Currently I’ve only been experimenting with aluminum  since I have a couple sheets of it kicking around from a past sculpting project. Next I would like to try copper then move on to brass and sterling but for now the aluminum is working great!  Here are some of the fun shapes I’ve been punching away at.

For Mom

May 9, 2010

Happy mothers day to all the wonderful moms out there!  I hope you all were treated like queens you are and showered with un-measurable amounts of love and affection.

I always try to make my mother’s day gifts each year. This can prove to be quite a difficult task, since my mom and I both have completely opposite styles. I prefer bold, large and colorful pieces; whereas, my mom enjoys more casual, delicate  and earth toned  pieces.  This year I am giving her a wire worked necklace made of copper with snake-skin jasper and ocean jasper semi precious stones.  I was super eager to use my newly acquired wire working skills! It was amazing  to see the piece come together from a pile of selected gemstone beads and raw copper wire to this masterpiece of hand crafted chain connectors and clasps.

I think she will really enjoy this one 🙂

Love you Mom!

(update: She freaked out! Saying she loved it so much it was her fav colors!)

Well.. I’m super excited that the school semester is finally over! This will be my first free summer semester in two years. It feels strange to have all this free time when I come home. A friend best described this sensation as post semester guilt, where I feel both relieved and overwhelmed by this change in free time.

Without school occupying my free time, I seem to be  busier than ever.  We have been overhauling our backyard, replenishing it back to its original Eden-esque  state.  I also joined the local roller derby team, which by the end of the week, leaves my body feeling extremely sore and tired.

But as for my jewelry, I plan on using this time to experiment and explore new mediums and techniques. Recently  I have been developing some mad skills from the wire work master Eugenia Chen. I took both her Wire Work I and Links class at Strung Out on Beads in Abbotsford.

Here are Eugenia’s samples from the classes
